Militia Boot Camp: Day Four - Gate Ninja

Private Newbro! I said CLOAK up, not TOKE up!


Private! Today you will be cloaking up and heading back to the gates.  And you will learn the ancient art of the Cloaked Gate Ninja as an Agent of Concord.

Your instrument of Justice is the Caldari Falcon.  You will skill into this ship, and become the saviour of High Sec haulers.  It is important that you train your cloaking skill to Level 5 to minimize your Sensor Calibration Delay.  You already need Level 4 for the Covert Ops Cloaking Device II, so you might as well go all the way.

The goal is to find the systems and gates that Vexor criminals are camping, and wait for them to land and strike.

Vexors will camp a gate, by sitting off grid a few thousand km away.  You will see them on your short range DScan (0.1 AU) - a persistent menacing presence to haulers - and you will know you are at the right place for the next gank. Most will be aligned and slowboating toward the gate.  A few will be sitting still.

Optional:  Scan them down and check the KR activation cost.  If it is cheap, consider bringing some good friends - a point, DPS and a baseball bat.  Because everyone loves a surprise party.

Preparation: Change your Overview by turning on the Drone -> Combat Drone setting so that the Garde drones will appear in the overview.  While cloaked, orbit the targeted gate below the optimal range of your jammers.

The Vexor pilot usually has a scout on another highly trafficked gate, scanning the cargo of haulers, looking for anything expensive and autopiloted that will be landing on the targeted gate,

Once the Vexor lands on your gate, you should wait and hold your cloak.  The Vexor normally does not fire until after his Garde drone are deployed.  Once those sentry drones are out, and there is a slowboating hauler on grid approaching the gate, decloak your Falcon.

Begin by targeting and locking the drones first.  Complete by locking the Vexor.  Again, your Jammers should be set to the F1-F5 keys.

Wait for the Vexor to shoot, then begin jamming the Vexor and the 3 Garde drones.

If you are fast enough, and your ECM strength is at sufficient strength (Lvl 5s), then the hauler should proceed to the gate and jump through - with a little bit less shield, armor and perhaps with a need to change his pants once he reaches his destination.

The Vexor pilot, on the other hand, should be hearing the overwhelming hum of your ECM waves, punctuated by the stuccato thumps of the gate guns penetrating his hull.

Congratulations Private, you have saved the hard earned ISK and work of a fellow capsuleer, and brought Justice to an often violent and cruel galaxy.  Celebrate your victory against High Sec Crime, and get ready for the next criminal.
