Hyperdunking

Hyperdunking was given a tentative space lawyer green light after much discussion.

So the question comes down to, what is to be done about it?

"Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing."
- John Stuart Mill , Inaugural address, delivered to the University of St. Andrews Feb 1st 1867

"When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."
- Edmund Burke, Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents (1770)

Hyperdunking exists because too many choose to be spectators in this 'contemptible struggle' for survival in New Eden.

The parable of the good Samaritan is largely lost on most people. The traveler - beaten, stripped, and left half dead - was your fellow countryman.
It was the foreigner - the Samaritan - that was the only one who stopped and helped the robbed and injured man.

In the centuries that have passed from ancient times until now, nothing has changed, and the question remains the same:

Who among you would dare to rise up, fight and make a difference, and assist your fellow capsuleer?

Hulkageddon, Burn Jita, Burn Uedama, Burn Hek. Burn Jita 2, 3...

Who will cheer the burning of New Eden, and who stands opposed?

The crime of hyperdunking is not new, although the technique is a variant, like any new virus.

But the solution remains the same - your own adaptation to lower your risk as a potential victim, and your own participation to intervene when you see it happening.

The road from Jerusalem to Jericho is a winding, meandering road that was known as the "Way of Blood" due to the frequency of  attacks against travelers and merchants by criminals. And much like the High-Sec choke points of Uedama, Isanamo, Hek, Balle and Aufey, criminals lay in wait, to attack, kill and steal from the travelers and merchants of New Eden who are either going or returning to Jita, the major trade hubs or Null Sec.

And numerous fellow capsuleers ignore the situation.  Many simply stop and stare, and move on, fearing more for their own interests.  A few smirk out of apathy and lack of sympathy, succumbing to the cynicism and bitterness of clones grown in vats whose birth and death are no more than a turning of the page.

But all these pilots are unremarkable, forgotten and lost to the memory of time just as the Israelites who walked past their countryman who lay bloodied and dying on the side of the road.

It is the foreigner, the Samaritan, whose deeds are remembered centuries later.
As for the criminals who made it their living to "Burn" the road to Jerusalem, they lay in unmarked graves, their 'killboard' made meaningless, their stolen riches turned to dust.

The are no laws of physics nor laws of New Eden that need to be changed in order to deter and contain this crime, nor of any other.

It is 'you', who must change and act.

SitRep - Madirmilire January 16 2015

High Sec Situation Report

CODE began ganking operations in Uedama as usual.

The High Sec Militia (HSM) and the AG community responded. Siegfried Cohenberg was acting gank Fleet Commander(FC) and Machariel bumper for the criminal operation.

Soon thereafter, CODE's freighter ganking operations were halted and Siegfried disappeared from Uedama. We checked the adjacent systems and found nothing.

We sent a scout ahead to Madirmilire and found Siegfried bumping an Orca 300K+ from the Niarja gate. The Orca pilot was Adam 187 of Knightrage Industries [KR I]

An Astero from the Knightrage corporation arrived and attempted to web the Orca to allow an escape, capacitor issues and the aggressive persistence of the Machariel bumper proved too much for the corp mate.

Once the rest of the HSM/AG forces arrived on grid, two of the Orca pilot corpmates arrived in Gnosis and began attacking the Orca. The event was puzzling until we realized the "corpmates" were CODE awoxers.

The Orca Pilot and CEO logged off for the rest of the encounter, though his ship was aggressed and warp disrupted by the awoxers.

We repped the Orca to full health again and again. CODE brought in a third awoxer, this time in a Brutix, and CODE still could not break our reps on the Orca.

CODE then brought in a small gank fleet, and attempted to gank the HSM/AG rep fleet, and each time they failed.

Gorila Vengaza, traitor of all High Sec capsuleers, joined the gank fleet and failed miserably, along with the rest of Jimmy 315's clown criminals of New Eden. High Sec Militia member Shelley Tortuga earned the KM, and brought the criminal Vengaza to High Sec justice

The Militia's dogged persistence forced CODE to a draw, and they stopped trying to actively gank the Orca.

With the pilot AWOL, CODE exhausted, and a stalemate that would last to DT, the Militia brought in a ship with fireworks and celebrated. The Militia left the field, knowing there was nothing more we could do, as we had proven our own skill and determination.

The Militia sends our deep appreciation to Armand Patrouette, Jin Shosan, Frank Best Mernher, Hoodoo, Zakk Star Killer, Pulttl, Shelley Tortuga and all others who took part in fighting the good fight.

As of the writing of this report (1-17 10:08 AM) , there is no reported KM of the Orca.

Update:  The Killboard finally showed the KM (or it was manually loaded) and can be found here, with over 1 million damage recorded against this Orca, with a battle that spanned over 2 hours long. Many attackers, including a third awoxer are not listed on the KM, as those participants engaged long before the 15 minutes leading up to the final death of the Orca, after the Militia had left the field.

Information for Orca pilots

CODE. and other gankers are deliberately targeting Orcas in high sec.

There is a way to counter this by fitting an Orca with the new transverse rigs as follows:

Orca

  • Damage Control II
  • Reinforced Bulkheads II
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Thermic Dissipation Amplifier II
  • EM Ward Amplifier II
  • Armored Warfare Link - Passive Defense II
  • Mining Foreman Link - Laser Optimization II
  • Siege Warfare Link - Shield Harmonizing II
  • Large Transverse Bulkhead II
  • Large Transverse Bulkhead II
  • Large Transverse Bulkhead II
  • Hammerhead II x5
  • Hobgoblin II x5

That Orca fit is around 420,000 EHP.  The damage control on that fit is very important because it adds 240% to the hull HP.  That fit will boost fleet yield, armor and shield resists.  To get that fit at maximum then improve your armor and shield skills and also get T2 light drone skills.

If you are using the Orca for mining support then it is recommend to get your fleet to use Procurers or Skiffs.

Anti-gank fits:

Ice Skiff
  • Damage Control II
  • Ice Harvester Upgrade II
  • Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Thermic Dissipation Amplifier II
  • Medium Shield Extender II
  • EM Ward Amplifier II
  • Ice Harvester II
  • Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I
  • Medium Ice Harvester Accelerator I
  • Acolyte II x5
  • Hammerhead II x5
  • Hobgoblin II x5

Ore Skiff
  • Damage Control II
  • Mining Laser Upgrade II
  • Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Thermic Dissipation Amplifier II
  • EM Ward Field II
  • Survey Scanner II
  • Modulated Strip Miner II
  • Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I
  • Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
  • Acolyte II x5
  • Mining Drone II x5
  • Hammerhead II x5

Ice Procurer
  • Damage Control II
  • 'Refuge' Adaptive Nano Plating I
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Thermic Dissipation Amplifier II
  • EM Ward Amplifier II
  • Ice Harvester II
  • Medium Ice Harvester Accelerator I
  • Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I
  • Medium Low Friction Nozzle Joints I
  • Acolyte II x5
  • Hobgoblin II x5

Ore Procurer
  • Damage Control II
  • 'Refuge' Adaptive Nano Plating I
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
  • EM Ward Field II
  • Thermic Dissipation Field II
  • Strip Miner I
  • Medium Drone Mining Augmentor I
  • Medium Polycarbon Engine Housing I
  • Medium Low Friction Nozzle Joints I
  • Acolyte II x5
  • Mining Drone I x5

...also more fits can be found here.
With all those fits, make sure the Damage Control and Invulnerability Shield are always on.

That Procurer fit is around 65,000 EHP and the Skiff 90,000.  With that much EHP those are difficult to gank.  The Procurer/Skiff have the exact same yield as Retriever/Mackinaw plus they have a better speed / warp out time plus they both get 50% extra drone damage.

If you are using your Orca for hauling then if you fit  Giant Secure Container in your cargo hold then those will expand the size of your hold because they are 3000 m3 volume but 3900m3 capacity when they are assembled.  These can also be fitted in your fleet hanger.

Finally please join the Anti-ganking channel - this will give information on gankers and where they operate and provide helpful information
