Militia Boot Camp: Day Three - Long Arm of the Law
Private Newbro! Try to look unimportant; the enemy may be low on ammo. |

This tactic is best when used as part of a team on Thrasher Patrol, or when just applying random Justice on high traffic gates either on the major trade lanes, or solo camping on the major routes out of low sec.
The goal is to catch, but never release.
CONCORD and the gate guns are your DPS of Justice. All you need to do is fast point the unsuspecting criminals and enjoy the fireworks.
Like fishing, this requires patience, vigilance, a steady hand and a fast lock.
This tactic is also a very good way to help make freighter ganks fail.
Normally, the gank fleet is staged in a central system that is along or near the major space trade lanes. The criminal organizations like to stock all their gank assets in a few central locations.
In this strategy, you position your ship on gate side that is in the direction of the bumped freighter, or general direction of the system where the ganks are happening. If the gank fleet is landing on your gate, to jump out of the system, then you're doing it wrong, Private!
Camp and orbit the gate well within the optimal range of your point. When the local numbers spike and the criminal warnings flash and you see the fleet enter your system, lock and point the criminals, preferably in order of preference of the higher value ships such as Talos, Brutix, Stealth Bombers, leaving catalysts and thrashers as the least preferred catch.
Point and enjoy.
You've joined the Militia. You'll visit strange and exotic systems. You'll meet new and interesting clones - and then pod them.
If you are lucky, or know who it is, you'll point the gank fleet FC. And then... oh my, what a time to be alive!
When the gank fleet is comprised of slow warping Talos and Brutix, and with you in a fast warping frigate, you can point, hold till popped, then warp to the next gate and camp the gate, waiting for the gank fleet to enter that system.
The Militia has experienced multiple catches on a single gank fleet by quick footed and fast warping members.
So Save the (freighter) Whales, and learn this fine art of catching criminals!
It should be noted, that catching and holding non-criminal suspects includes a high amount of risk. It is ill-advised to point every yellow flashing thing, without a firm understanding of your own DPS capabilities as well as your fleet mates.
If you are going to be catching suspects as well, make sure your guns and fleet are prepared.
