The HSM Fleet Doctrine Series



The first ship awarded to militia members is the Griffin. It is awarded to members who reach the Private First Class rank of 500M in accumulated criminal KM values.

The Griffin is a T1 Caldari EWAR platform ship, and the first ship where militia members can learn and train the art of ECM warfare.  It is the first ship on the ECM career progression toward the Blackbird, Kitsune, Falcon and Rook.




Required Skills

  • Caldari Frigate
  • Long Range Targeting - 5% Bonus to targeting range per skill level.
  • Frequency Modulation - 10% bonus to falloff for ECM per skill level.
  • Long Distance Jamming - 10% bonus to optimal range of ECM per skill level.
  • Electronic Superiority Rigging - 10% reduction in Electronic Superiority Rig drawbacks per level.
  • Signal Dispersion - 5% bonus to strength of all ECM jammers per skill level.
  • Thermodynamics - Reduces heat damage by 5% per level.

As with any skill, the long range goal should be Vs in all to be most effective.

Recommended usage is patrolling the star gates against criminal Thrashers and Catalysts who prey on small ship travelers such as pods, shuttles, and lightly tanked industrial ships.

  • 3x 'Hypnos' Ion Field ECM I or 3x Enfeebling Phase Inversion ECM I
  • 2 x Signal Distortion Amplifier II
  • 5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
  • Small Particle Dispersion Augmentor I
  • Small Targeting System Subcontroller I
  • Small Particle Dispersion Augmentor II

As always, orbit near your optimal ranges and pulse or keep the micro warp drive on. Speed and range are the primary tank for small EWAR frigates.
